Prayer Wall Ignite Church Planting JUNE 2018 Prayer Letter download pdf here Dear Ignite Prayer and Fasting Partners, I attended Adventure Christian Church’s prayer breakfast a couple of weeks ago and did the teaching time. The topic was hindrances to prayer. One of the hindrances was not believing that our prayers could make a difference. I wonder how many prayers are left unanswered simply because we don’t ask. I was reminded of the importance of asking with a call I just completed to one of our partners. I asked if she would provide the funding for a block party trailer that our new churches could use to bring the light of Jesus to their cities. Her response, “Let’s do that!” If I had not asked, she would never have known there was a need. We pray believing that God will answer our prayers, let’s consider that as we pray together in June: 1. Our newest plants in Dyer and Winfield: Rise (Dyer) and Life Well (Winfield) have hired staff for the new churches. They are in the process of gathering launch team members for the fall and are taking part in community events during the summer. Please pray for Matt Reece (Rise) and Danny Cox (Winfield) as they are preparing to launch. 2. Church Planters: We continue to lift this need before the Father. Pray for planters for the four distinct people groups of our region: African-American, Asian, Hispanic and Caucasian. I would also appreciate your prayers for a church planter for Highland, IL (our cooperative work with HEA in southern IL). 3. North American Christian Convention in Indianapolis: Several of our staff team and planters will be attending the NACC, June 26 – 28. I’d like you to pray for some positive connections for planters and partners during our time there. This event provides an excellent connection point. 4. Parent Church Network: This is one of the mountains we are asking God to move ahead of us in 2018. We want to launch this initiative by the beginning of 2019. Please pray for 3 – 5 churches who will participate in this partnership. It could be a powerful multiplication tool for our region. 5. Freelance Planter Academy: We are planning on launching this training and mentorship tool for non-traditional church planters by the end of the year. Pray for the recruiting of these individuals, for the training process we will be utilizing and for the assessment of these planters moving forward. We believe that there are more ways to start churches in Chicagoland and we are committed to reaching more people for Jesus. Thank you for being a part of our prayer team. I know how vital this ministry is to Ignite’s health and future. As God answers these prayers, we will celebrate together. I am grateful for your help, Lance
